Is a man honking and waving from his car at girls catcalling?

So me and my friend were walking along - we’re both youngish by the way - and some random 40ish year old man goes and honks at us from his car and waves with his window down and he was in a green car and both of us don’t know anyone with a green car so what does that mean? Is it a stupid ass form of catcalling?

tldr: when a man honks from his car and waves when girls are walking along is it catcalling?

holy crap this was funny to read the replies! Yeah, be afraid of the honking car horn guy. They're super duper dangerous and definitely not just honking. 🤪

Maybe his son was in the passenger seat and thought you were hot so HE honked.

Maybe the guy passed his friend on the road and honked and it just happened to be around the time he was passing you.

Maybe he was honking at you because he knows you from church or he's a teacher that recognized you or something.

Maybe he saw you and didn't know or care how old or young you were, but appreciated the view so he honked. It's not a crime to do so. It's not catcalling because you'll never really be sure that's what he meant by it. With actual catcalling, they're specific with their words so there's no mistaking that they're being pervs.
