Why do men wave and honk at me from their cars?

i have a conventionally attractive body (which means my body type adheres pretty well to conventional beauty standards. I am 5'6" and i weigh 115lbs. not saying my body is attractive because my boobs are smaller than average) and i would rate my face as average. Sometimes if I'm walking somewhere or working in the yard or just getting in my car, honk or wave at me or break their necks to look at me while they're passing, yet i rarely get attention from men in the grocery store or anything like that. im not gonna lie i want a guy to talk to me so bad. i'm extremely lonely and always have been. i doubt anything would come being approached, but i still want it. why are they brave enough to wave and honk from their cars, but not brave enough to approach me?

You might be much prettier than you think. Guys can get put off when they get in front of a beautiful woman. You might try being forward and start talking to a guy when you see one.

because the reality is they aren't brave. it's just basically a catcall. i don't really know what the intent is, perhaps they think it's flattering, perhaps it's just an impulse

Maybe you don't look approachable? Hard to say not seeing how you normally carry yourself. If you look like you're in a bad mood very few men are going to approach you.

Then there's your answer. Why would I go for you over the person two tables down that looks like she's having a good time? One, they're more likely to say yes, and two, moods are contagious. I, and many other men, have dated a woman who is always in a shite mood and frankly it's just exhausting, so yeah, in a room full of strangers I'm not talking to you.

That sucks, I hear ya, but that doesn't change anything when I walk in a room and have 15 seconds at best to assess who I'm going to talk to and in what order. Smile more? I don't know... tried different hair styles to look less sad?

The guys honking and waving from their cars are, generally, lower-class guys, who were generally raised with minimal morals and values. No man with good morals and values, or any amount of class, is going to do that.

I'm not sure why no one will approach you. That said, you can approach a guy and talk to them as well. It's ok in 2023. Take your happiness into your own hands and your loneliness will be gone.

That's because you haven't asked. Just talk to people you're an adult. You can do this and the worst case someone says no thank you. You can just start talking to someone to be friendly and see right away how it feels.

How has waiting for someone to approach you been working for you. If you do nothing differently then nothing new will happen.

yes it has been described as svelte. height is not important i like men between 5'3" and 6'. i don't like them too tall or too short
