Why are some men "players"?

Fact is most men see women as objects and not people with feelings. They do it for the thrill of it. How many can they score. The way kids are raised today compared to say 40 years ago are so different. A guy today that's genuine has to go through twice or more effort to land a girl compared to years ago.

If good guys did the things they do these days to try and get a women and did those same things years ago, they could have chosen any women they want. Today no one wants to put in effort, and because of that they just want to cut through all the hard stuff and just get what they want and bounce. And girls has a part in it too.

Women will knowingly go for guys they know are labeled players, because it triggers something in them, if he sleeps with so many women they must be attractive, and don't look on the inside.

Respect was valued back then. Society, expectations, influences and standards has changed so much that today sex, infidelity, cheating, dishonesty, playing is placed above respect, trust, chivalry, honesty and loyalty. Men are players because they enjoy the thrill of not having to commit so much time and effort to one person and just increase their body count and challenging themselves to see how many they can score with.

Great answer, thank you! I think you're right, especially about hookup culture and the glorification of it. And some women also like players because it makes them feel special to be "chosen" over other women by a supposedly "high-value man." They want to be the one treated well when other girls have been played, since it's a massive ego boost.

When women haven't matured yet, they see players as being high-value, because they equate sleeping with loads of women as the man being desirable. But (hopefully) after they mature a bit, they start to see that the truly desirable guys are the good guys who respect women and want a real relationship.

Just my two cents about women and players.

That's very true. It might partly be a "status amongst other guys" thing. Like it gives kudos amongst "the boys" if you're a player. Think about how many men follow Dan Bilzerian and people like that.

They are encouraged to be one. I have heard mom’s say with glee “he is going to grow up to be a player”. But they do come from dysfunctional families and neighborhoods but that is the culture.
