Guy's Behavior

How would I know if he is serious if he want me to date me?

So I met this guy over the Internet. We been talking a month. We develop friendship. Last 2 days ago, he become cold.. his approach was different. In that day we were taking about my friend dating a stranger. then I remember he asked me " when is our date? " i didn't mind it coz i thought he was joking. So I sent him a HAHA reaction emoji. Then next day we were talking about the upcoming fiest in my city. He response "I'm gonna visit you, haha" so I send him a haha reaction. Suddenly , on that night he chatted me " we are chatting but no dates to come. Haha" I asked him teasingly " u want us to date?😂" he sent me a HAHA reaction emoji. Then he said " if u are hesitant don't date me " " nevermind , haha"
I asked him if he serious. He didn't reply anymore. I quite feel bad though. I sent 3 messages he is still ignoring me.

I don't know if he is serious. What if it just a game trying to manipulate me 🤷‍♀️
How would I know if he is serious if he want me to date me?
