I really don't care, honestly. I'm not totally sold on the idea of having kids, myself. I kind of feel like I'm at a point in my life where I would have met the woman I'm going to have kids with if I was actually going to.
My dad told me that he felt like he was in the same situation at my age where he thought "it's now or never." He ended up marrying my mother, which was a huge mistake (my words, not his). They met through work and things just kind of... lined up... and that's not really a very intentional choice on his part. I'm worried that if I were to do something similar, the mother of my kids might feel the way that my mother felt; which was that she was being taken for granted. I don't think she actually was being taken for granted, but that's
The mother of my children deserves to feel wanted, pursued and cherished. And I feel like any woman I meet at this stage of life isn't going to get that kind of energy.

+1 yit ok what ever she want. some want a lot of kids. some do not like the kids they have now. I want 2 kids a boy and a girl. If you do not want kids it ok. If you want 500 kids it ok. If you have a kid but do not want one you should still take care of it if you can. You can take care of some one else kid if you want. You can just have sex use protection if you want. You can have no sex if you want. You still a good women if you do not have kids you are no less valuable. You can work on you life or job and career.

What Guys Said
If they choose not to have children that's fine. It's none of my business and it shouldn't be anyone else's either. I personally think it takes a lot of maturity and self awareness to realize you don't want children. Many people get pressured into it whether it be spouses of family members and they deeply regret it.

+1 yIt’s her body and it’s her choice, if a woman doesn’t want children then she doesn’t have to have them, children are a life long commitment they’re also a very expensive commitment and not everyone has the funds for a child, I’m a guy and I don’t want children mainly due to the fact that this world is cruel and I can’t afford to keep a child. Women need to stop being bashed for not wanting a child, let her do what she wants and feels is right.
30 ReplyThey are failures as women. There is only one thing a woman can do that a man cannot. It is giving birth. There is no job in the workforce that women do that is indispensable. Any job they can do there are many men who can do it better. So since men can't pick up the slack for women here, we have population decline.

+1 yI don’t second guess anyone’s decision not to have kids. In addition to the fact the world is already overpopulated, he or she could have genetic health problems or fertility issues that I am unaware of. And not everyone has the temperament or patience to deal with children.

+1 yThis is gonna sound harsh but it’s a waste
I’m certain if most guys got to be women they’d want to experience child birth
like what’s the point of even existing if you choose to not do the one thing that only women can do
and I’m not talking about women who can’t I’m talking about women who choose not to
00 ReplyIt's their choice. I worry though that there are too many women who don't want children. Many people say the biggest treat to society today is population collapse. When we grow old there won't be enough people in the younger generations to shoulder society and The needs of old, frail and sickly people.

Not everyone who wants to have children, can. Not everyone who think they don't, doesn't.

@letuswaltzforthedead what is the general consensus with you and your friends about wanting kids? Your age group are going to make a lot of those decisions in the next few years. That is a lot of power and responsibility.

Most of the teenage girls I know aren't really focus on kids, mostly on careers. If anything, most of the people I know will have 1 to 2 kids if any. Pet supplies companies sounds like a smart idea honestly, maybe not all of them will have kids but nearly everyone has or wants a pet.

@letuswaltzforthedead I wouldn’t expect focused just coming out of high school, or at least only focused on by girls coming out of very traditional or religious families, but some long term planning at all? By reputation girls are better at that than boys, but it evens out in mid 20’s.

The most focus they have been is on what degree they'll get and their job afterwards. Maybe a relationship but that's mostly because its high school. None of the parents nor the adults in school talk about parenthood positively ("focus on your career now and have kids when you're 60", "being a mom is bad/oppression", or "kids bad for the planet" etc). For the most part, if anyone wants kids in the next 5 or so years, it's probably because they have baby fever otherwise it isn't a concern if they end up childless.

@letuswaltzforthedead having kids in your 60’s is unlikely, even with frozen eggs and other technological assistance. Do these parents speaking negatively of parenthood to THEIR OWN CHILDREN realize how insulting that is to their child? Being a mom is the most important job in the world as far as I am concerned. No career held by a man to bring home money can possibly ever compare to raising the future of humanity in importance.

I sent my never-married sister a case of cat food for her fiftieth birthday, along with Metamucil, reading glasses and a bottle of Centrum Silver. She didn’t think it was very funny.

+1 yIt’s her choice. But honestly this isn’t good for society in general and I think deep down many of these women later suffer depression and regret for intentionally remaining childless.
