Me and this guy have became instant best friends within two months of knowing each other. We initially slept together but then decided (he decided) we were better off as friends. We hang out almost everyday after work. He even dumped a girl he was dating because she said she couldn't handle our friendship. We don't have any sort of physical intimacy at all anymore since deciding to just be friends. He told me he didn't want to cross that line with me.

However, I've only known him for two months. Why would he dump a love interest because she said she couldn't handle our friendship? It's not like we've been BFF for years. What's the deal? I need some male perspective...

It is what it is. You had sex and function as friends now. Do not overthink it. He seems to be happy but cautious. Rushing him or putting pressure on him is not to your benefit
