Guys, How much effort should the man put in to travelling?

So I visited this guy I’ve been talking to recently. Been chatting for two years. He’s in a different country and it’s only across the water.

I paid about $100 and when I mentioned him meeting me next time, he said he’s looking into getting a visa cause his passport is not like mine. Which is true, it’s not. But it’s been a week and he’s not applied for a visa. His dad is unwell atm, but I know for a fact he goes out for a drink with his friends. So despite this big responsibility he has with his dad, he does make time.

Would you be disappointed, if after a week he still hadn’t sorted it? We talk daily.
