Guy turned to look back at me?

A guy I know at uni (with whom I have been on dates with but didn't have sex) did this. we crossed each other on the street and waved at each other. I went in a different direction and he went to the other direction.

I turned to look back and saw he was at the edge of the street , quite far away from me (and the street was a bit crowded so it was obscuring my view of him) waiting for the green signal.

I turned again and saw him this time amongst the bunch of people and noticed that he had turned back and was looking in my direction.

The green signal came on and he went forward.

Why would he do this?

Let me ask you this, why did you turn back to look at him? That is likely the same reason he did. You are asking why he did it but why did you? That should answer your question there. Also, how are any of us supposed to know what is going on in this guy's head?

It is like asking "I walked past a guy on the street and he sneezed, what does that mean?" Likely nothing. If you are friendly and have dated him, he was probably checking you out, just like you were doing to him.

Maybe he looked back to see if you looked back, which you did. I can sit here and make any number of guesses as to why. So can you. So can the rest of the users. We will never know why because we are not him.

Ok, so maybe he is doing the same things. He looked at you because he cares for you. I can come up with tons of guesses. Maybe he thought he heard his name called. Maybe he looked back to see if he was going the right direction. Maybe he thought he was being followed. Maybe he thought he forgot something and then realized he didn't.

Likely reason is the same one you gave though.
