To people from the UK: does it make a difference whether my flatmates are all male or all female?

I’ll only be sharing a kitchen with them, and im pretty introverted so I’m not just hanging out in the kitchen; but I just want to make sure I’m not forgetting anything that might be detrimental to my living experience

I've been in several house share situations due to working away from home. No easy answer as it depends on their personalities and yours.

I can only speak from my experience. Men in general are more likely to gather and turn it into a social drinking culture and generally aren't the cleanest around the house. Which long term is not good. I have also been in house mixed share's where women have been big on the social drinking culture though.

I too generally just kept it to kitchen use. From my perspective men drank too much, women in that environment generally were more flirty with me.

All male may well cause friction as they will all want your attention. I'd personally choose all female and not for sexual reasons. Just they'd more likely to clean up after themselves and more likely to be a bit more responsible.
