Did he ghost me over my looks?

Question

So I started talking this guy through a family member after i saw him on a fb post and thought he was cute. He lived in a diff city so I sent him what i thought were basic pics i. e no make up, simple, nothing special and he hearted them. We talked for a few days but then he got quiet. So i texted him and told him i was coming to his city and if he wanted to meet. I asked him not to ghost me in the meantime and he was like im sorry i do that but I won’t again. We started talking everyday sometime 4-6 hours. But he did tell me he did not want a relationship and enjoyed being single. Well we ended up facetiming each other and i could tell something was off. After that FT he did not text me for a few days so i texted him good morning and he texted back good morning but then nothing else! So my question is did he find me unattractive? I mean the only difference from me and the pics i sent him was the hairstyle? I also messaged him and said he could tell me if that were the case and no answer from him…

There is absolutely no way for us to tell what is going through someone else's head. So, at best, I am guessing at what happened. There are two possibilities that come to mind. First is the one that you mention. He just didn't find you his type and that was that.

The second and more plausible one in my mind is that you came off a little needy by your details you give. Now, asking someone not to ghost you doesn't exactly scream confidence.

He also stated he didn't want a relationship but you seemed to push about getting together and meeting in person. I find this the more likely scenario.

He felt kind of smothered and not ready to get into anything as he said. That sounds way more likely than being that shallow over looks, though it is not impossible that wouldn't be the reason.

The issue here is that these are all guesses and no one will know but him. I would just not worry about it and move on. No sense dwelling on something that has no chance of becoming anything, right?

Well, he enjoys being single, so whether ir not he is attracted to you, may not matter much. I dont know his age, but I see yours and if he is a bit older, he may have decided that 1) he wants to remain single at least for now 2) you might not have been what he is searching for. So get yourself out there and meet new men who are interested in you. PS. Dating sites are a good way to meet potential partners, and you can choose between many to talk to before you meet. Good luck.
