I Kissed My Crush on His Cheek, and He Didn't Pull Away. I Asked Him How He Felt and He Said It Felt Normal. What Does That Mean?

Yesterday, I kissed the guy who I have feelings for on the cheek. We were messaging each other for a couple of months, starting in June. He eventually told me that he wasn't ready for a relationship at the moment, and wanted to be friends. I told him whether he ends up with me or someone else, I wanted him to be happy and that I'm here for him, while holding hand.

Moving on, he was walking out the door when I called his name. He turned around and I asked him if he was OK. He said yes and that he was gonna go meet someone. As he was turning around, I held out my arms for a hug. He turned around and I approached him and hugged him around the shoulders and he hugged back. After a couple a seconds, as he was pulling away, I tuned my head and kissed him on his right cheek for a couple of seconds before letting go. He didn't pull away, move or anything. I said my goodbye and we both turned and walked. The next day, I asked him if he felt uncomfortable and how did it feel? He said that it felt normal. I said ok, smiled awkwardly and walked away. What do you think he means by normal?
