Like when you are hesitant towards marriage, and she stays patient with you, and she keeps trying to be her best self (i. e, cooking, cleaning, good sex, good clothes, being emotionally there when you're going through a crisis) in hopes that you will suddenly realized that she's the one worth marrying.

I think its sweet when women do that. I appreciate having the time to get to know her before deciding.

If it lasted that long then she will get the ring in the end if she wasn't faking, and unfortunately it takes years to know if a person is being fake/lying.

I wish it could be figured out faster.

No. If anything, it's incredibly endearing. It shows you that she truly likes/loves you. It shows you that she values you and the relationship you two have more so than some ideal that society may impose on us. It shows you that even if she'd prefer you propose to her sooner, she's rather be with you where you propose later than not be with you at all.

Pathetic is not the word but I think marriage is a duo thing, if you wait for him to propose you make it a one way thing, just hint it over and over until you have a discussion about it so you know how he feels about marriage.
