Guy at work keeps talking to me & giving me compliments but he has a girlfriend? What should I do?

I've been at my job for 3 months.

There's a guy that started talking to me on my first day & we instantly clicked.

We have a lot in common, but a few months in, he mentioned his girlfriend.

He always comes and talks to me every morning & we have lunch together most days.

We have a work company do soon, no spouses are allowed but he knows I live far from work & said I could stay over.

I'm not going too.

I don't know if I'm going to much into this but it's weird I have so much in common with a taken man.

He's even said that himself.

Am I going too much into this?

Workplace romances are common and they usually lead to cheating, and then pain and suffering for the significant others at home. When you spend a lot of time with your coworker and there's chemistry and attraction there it get's harder and harder to resist temptation. He likely sees you more than he does his girlfriend and his flirting is a sign that he possibly lacks boundaries. You may end up in the middle of his relationship drama unless you set some boundaries yourself and make it crystal clear to him that you will never sleep with someone who's in a relationship. If he wants to honestly pursue anything with you he needs to be single.

Thank you, yeah, it's a bit hard cause I'm trying not to catch feelings. One of the main things we talk about is golf. We both play but he keeps saying his girlfriend hates it & never goes with him. He always keeps asking me to play a song for him on the piano when I mentioned to him I play it. It's just a bit confusing & hard cause he's a really nice guy

That’s great when you and he share common interests. When he’s complaining his current girlfriend to you, that might be a sign that he’s not satisfied in his current relationship. He might be hoping for a new relationship with you. If both of you really enjoy the time with each other, you could ask him to go exclusively with you to see if he’s actually serious with you.

There is such a thing as a 'work boyfriend' or 'work girlfriend'. Some people flirt at work just to help the day go by faster and fun for everyone.
