Do friends with benefits actually do anything besides sex?

we hooked up on our 2nd date and both agreed to keep it casual but its been strictly sexual since. i let him know today i’d prefer something a little more substantial (kind of tired of feeling used) and would like to at least hang outside the bedroom sometimes. he told me he appreciated my honesty and asked for some time to think about it. now i think i gave him the wrong idea and lead him to believe i’m asking for commitment, so i further elaborated and let him know i’m not looking for something more than casual, just don’t want to be categorized as solely his “hook up” and would at least like to be friendly with each other, bc i feel there’s a difference to hookups and casual dating, and he doesn’t seem to be interested in the latter. should i just move on or actually give him time to “think about it”? bc i genuinely do enjoy his company and would at least like to remain friends at the end of this.

So, my thoughts about this stuff are different from most people’s in that I think fuck buddies should genuinely be buddies. A lot of people treat their fuck buddies like nothing more than warm sex toys; they don’t want any connection beyond sex.

Realistically, your fuck buddy isn’t going to be down to hangout outside of bed. If he hasn’t let you know yet; the answer is no. Unfortunately, this kind of situation is why I generally tell people to avoid friends with benefits arrangements; you really ought to strive to only be having sex with men who spiritually fulfill you.

Why do you like his company if you don't even feel like friends?

Why doesn't he want to be seen with you, go places and do things together as casual friends? Is he at all interested in your hobbies, interests, passions, thoughts, ambitions? It doesn't sound like it.

It seems that he is using you while he continues to search for someone he wants to actually be with.

They went in 2 dates before o heard them being loud honestly their first date was at a hotel restaurant and my mom said they were getting a room because they were too tired and it was too late to drive home. You did the right thing but you're probably overthinking it and imagining possibilities in which he could have misunderstood what you wanted. He understands. Just give him a day or two to decide and be ready to move on from him if he says no.
