Why would a guy stare you intensely after sex?

When a guy holds a stare at you after sex and keeps intense eye contact after sex does that mean he’s interested? I don’t mean in bed after I mean like when you go downstairs afterwards and get a sip of water, have a snack etc, holding an intense stare at you, unable to keep his eyes off you etc. would that mean he enjoyed the sex and is interested? For me I tried looking away but it was awkward because he was looking so intense I quickly snapped my head back over toward him and stared back. I thought there was chemistry but I heard nothing back from him since…
