Why did my guy friend unfollow me?

I recently tried to hold my guy friend's hand because he was sending me signals that he liked me more than a friend (one out of the many examples = he almost called himself my boyfriend & went to the jacuzzi alone with me and took his shirt off (this may not seen like much but I'm just 18 so I think he was sending signals)). When I tried to hold his hand he took his hand out and said that he is talking with some other girl who lives far away and doesn't go to my school and that I couldn't hold his hand. 1 week later he unfollwed me on his ig spam inner circle only account and now he doesn't follow me on his main either.. but then why did he even say hi to me first at school last week?

You read the signals wrong. No biggie. It probably stings a bit, the rejection and a bit of embarrassment. I think he did the right things to make it clear to you that there are boundaries, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t want to remain friends. If you’re not sure that you can be a true friend without wanting more from the relationship, you should set some boundaries of your own. Possibly even remove him from the picture as entirely as possible. Otherwise, proceed with caution. There’s lots of ways for it to go wrong. Hopefully you don’t get hurt and hopefully you don’t hurt someone else.
