So this guy will tell me he’s not into me , but also send some mixed signals as well. So I’ll believe him when he says he’s not interested, but then he’ll make a comment that will give some hope, but then go back to not being into me …

Why do men do that? Is it just that they enjoy the attention, or “ option “?

This called playing "hard to get."

They intentionally say things, and send mixed signals, inorder to make you want them more. It literally the definition of playing games, and being a game player.

Stay away from people like this.

If he rejected you. Just leave him be. Maybe he is not meaning to. Maybe he is just trying to fuck with your head for his own entertainment. Maybe he wants you on the back burner.
