Why do my crush's friends laugh whenever they notice me?

So, there's a guy I like and we attend the same courses at college but we don't talk to each other. However, he notices me whenever I'm around and we follow each other on Instagram, so he knows my name. The thing is that yesterday, after the classes, I was walking alone on the street and while doing this I was talking on my phone. About 2 meters in front of me, two of my crush's friends were walking and please keep in mind that the street was totally empty and there were only the 3 of us. At some point, the first friend turned his head back and noticed me. Then he turned back again and after a while he pushed the other friend's shoulder and told him something that I could not hear. Immediately they both turned their heads back and stared at me and then burst into laughter.

I can't understand why that happened cuz I've never introduced myself to them. Is there any chance they notice me cuz my crush likes me back?

If he says yes good for you.

If he says no then good for you because u can't find another while he is leading you on.
