I've met this guy a month ago. He doesn't text me much, usually just once a day. When we are together I feel like he really cares about me, but then he gets distant. He acts like a real gentleman which is rare for guys my age (brings me shoes, opens the door for me, wants to share his food with me). He's never been in a serious relationship, I'm 6 months out of mine. At first he told me that he's looking just for something casual. I told him that I want a relationship. His response was that he might reconsider. I asked him what he thinks about me and he said that he won't tell me. I don't wanna waste my time but I also really like this guy. Why are guys more complicated than algebra lol.

If I were you I’d wash my hands of him. It doesn’t matter how attractive or gentlemanly he is, you don’t need to wait around to be “considered” and for him to decide if he even wants to give you a chance. You’re better than that.

I think the answer is in that paragraph. He's looking for something casual. He probably leads a busy life and isn't sure he wants to go full tilt into a relationship.

We really aren't usually very complicated at all. We tend to say what we want and go for it, particularly when asked directly.
