Does he like me and what should I do?

I recently went on a date with this guy I met online. Before meeting up we had talked for a few days and seem like we had a connection with each other. We decided to meet up in person to see if it was real. We did end up doing it with each other. In my mind everything went well and I thought he felt the same way. During the date he kept saying things like "next time" and even said when I left that he was hoping to see me again. He didn't text me back so I decided to and he told me he had a good time. Tuesday I asked him why he hadn't been texting me and did he want to date me. He said he's been busy with school and that he really liked me, but he wasn't sure how it was going to work since I was far from him and that he was trying to figure out a way for it to work. For me I thought maybe he was using this as an excuse because I'm only an hour away from him. We both are college students at different schools making the distance 3 hours, but he told me that I could always spend the night with him because he lives alone. Plus since the distance is only 3 hours I come back home often if possible. He is also a PhD candidate, while I'm an undergrad. I've also noticed that on the website we met he's been on it and following other women. I'm not stalking him, I just was on the website and happened to notice his recent activity. This also makes me think that he's busy, but has time to be on the website, but not to text me or to see how I'm doing. Before we met he was texting me often, but now he's not. Should I just take this as he doesn't like me and doesn't want to see me or should I text him and see what's up?
