Do boys and men get self conscious taking their shirts off even if they have good bodies?

The other day in PE the pump in the pool broke when the boys were meant to have swimming, so they had to join the girls lesson in the gym instead, and wear their swimming shorts. Some of them seemed much more shy and quiet than they usually do, do you think that's because they had to take their shirts off in front of us? Maybe it was a bit awkward for them (though to be honest we weren't complaining haha)?

I don't any more but I did when I was in school. It sucked to take my shirt off. I wasn't any scrawnier than the other boys, but, yeah, was self conscious.

The worst one, however, was in 6th grade PE we had a horrible teacher. If a student didn't bring shorts and a t-shirt, she made them just wear their underwear. Happened a couple times until she made a girl do it and after that day it swiftly stopped.

I''ve got an average body but yeah would have found that a bit embarrassing, just as you would of the other way around I'm guessing.

The pool did go wrong when we had swimming last year but they just cancelled the lesson and sent us to a classroom thankfully 😂 probably would have been a bit weird making girls do gymnastics in their swimming costumes lol

Most don't, but maybe some do if they're not used to it. Situations like that are probably good for them to gain more confidence.

Yes to be fair it was probably good for them if they weren't one of the more confident guys

I definitely get nervous taking my shirt off around girls. Mainly because I'm chubby
