It's only for women to get a clear look at their vagina, making sure there's no cancers or infections etc.
Men don't have that so we don't ever need to be in that position, only bent over for the prostate exam...

No. It's only so the doctor can get a clear view inside the vagina. Because our private parts are on the outside, they can be examined laying down flat or sitting on the exam table.
