Does it mean he genuinely cares about me?

My friend Anthony and I text everyday then sometimes we text every so often. Because we don’t feel like texting or we are busy (but we let each other know). Today he “checked up on me” but does that mean he cares that I am doing okay? Like he cares about my well being? I mean if you check up on your friends does that mean you care about them? Lol this might be a dumb question but I just curious.

Absolutely Anthony cares about your well being. That's... what all the evidence shows.

Now, if he's never "checked up on you" in this way before... then it could mean something (I'm guessing something about this struck you as different from usual or you wouldn't be asking this)

I'm having a hard time figuring out if you're genuinely asking if your friend cares about you (as a friend... but cares about you significantly)? Or if you're beating around-the-bush and mean "does my friend have romantic feelings for me.

THe actual friend part. Yes for sure. He clearly cares about your well being. This all makes sense, if you are "going through something (anything)" that might prompt a genuine friend to check up on you (because there was some reason to think you might NOT be 'doing ok')

But it's a weird thing for a friend who has never done this before to suddenly do for absolutely no reason in particular. In that case... it's less clear... but suggests (slightly) that perhaps he is developing romantic feelings.

But if there is any possible reason Anthony could be 'worried' about you then it's innocent friendship.

Dammit! Are you a girl who has made her first genuine deep-friendship? Or are you playing oblivious to signs you know to be signals of more than friendship... but want others to 'convince you' he likes you? I can't figure out which.

So the answer depends. One, of... those two... depending... on whether you're being sincere or coy here. I'd be curious to know mystery girl! 🙂
