What Guys Said
I had a very close friend online for several years. She was the center of a small group of gaming friends, but she and I also spent a lot of one-on-one time together. We played, and we talked. I was a confidant, a wall to bounce ideas off of, and a shoulder to cry on.
There might have been a tiny bit of sexual tension early on, but it was clear we wanted different things in a romantic partner, so we never explored that. We just stayed good friends.
At a certain point, I became depressed. A complex set of circumstances put me deep in the hole, and I confided in her. Unfortunately, she seemed to hold me to a different set of standards, and her patience with my downer self proved limited. I didn't find the support I felt like I needed, so I withdrew. I found it really difficult to trust her after that. Although she tried to stay in contact, we slowly drifted apart.
Pretty much all my friends are female, some i am more close with than others. My current main one is my cousin which gives you that extra level of "safety" in what your saying, you trust them more. Its nice i prefer to talk to women about issues as i can be more myself, men tend to be more held back or have some sort of masculinity agenda so its hard to open up without feeling like they mocking.
I did, it was nice, but I slowly started having feelings and it affected our friendship. We’re still friends and all, but things are different now
Why couldn’t you guys be together?
She didn’t have feelings for me
