It recently happened to a very attractive woman I work with. We were out for a work get together and this younger girl complimented my friends appearance. From there she was offering to buy her drinks and actually started rubbing her back and complimenting her body. My friend was eating it up! Finally, the young girl asked if they could go out together sometime. She made it clear she wasn't talking about a "just as friends" outing. That's when my friend said she finds her very attractive and nice but she's not into women, the young girl politely said, "it's cool, I just thought I'd try my luck" and went on her way. How would/have you handle a similar situation? I would be lying if I said I wasn't intrigued by it, as they are both gorgeous women.

Why were you intrigued? Would you have been intrigued if it were two men, too?

Couple reasons I was intrigued. #1) This young woman was more aggressive than I have ever seen a guy be toward a woman, without even knowing whether she was straight or not. #2) My friend hates any type of attention from men in a similar situation but couldn't get enough of an attractive woman getting in her personal space. #3) It was intiguing to me that young lesbians may actually have an age preference, as you just said you do. Nothing I said was offensive. So don't bring an attitude!

The young woman is probably a lesbian or in a wlw cycle if not. And women typically feel more comfortable around other women than men - especially in a bar/getting hit on situation. It's not always good - women can be predatory as well - but it's generally less risky.

So I'm not surprised she's more open to a woman than a man in this interaction.

And... Yeah. Lesbians have preferences - they're... They're just women who like other women, it's just like straights who have preferences. There's... It's preferences. Everyone has them.

I had a close friend a few years ago, we used to hang out a lot and have sleep overs etc. She was very vocal about boys I talked to or dated, always tried to put me off them. I'm straight and very comfortable with my sexuality so I never really picked up on this girls behaviour and attitude towards me. Then one day we both met up with my best friend from high school and afterwards my bestie sat me down for a chat and just said "SHE IS IN LOVE WITH YOU!!" I tried to laugh it off but she highlighted numerous things about her behaviour and all of a sudden everything clicked and made sense. Since that moment, I felt awkward around this friend (more so because her behaviour with me was very possessive and toxic) so I ended the friendship

One thing I have found very surprising, is the number of girls I went to school with that are gay. I come from a very small town and went to school with these girls for years and would have never guessed. Now that we've reconnected through facebook, I see that they're all doing well but are gay. I always wondered if they had shown gay behavior toward their friends growing up.

I’m gay so I always get really happy when it happens as picking out other lgbt people can be tricky. But, most straight girls just seem to enjoy the flattery and move on like most other people. At least that’s the conscious I’ve gotten from hanging out with my straight friends. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I agree. My friend was extremely flattered by the attention. Especially when the girl complimented her clothing style, "cause she takes a lot of pride in how she dresses. She said it was nice to hear coming from someone younger. And the younger girl was very polite and personable.
