Guys, What did he meant by telling me this?

I asked a guy I talk with if he knows of any friend he has who i would like to let me know. He quickly replied with I doubt it.

I think he's trying to avoid the train wreck of recommending you to a guy friend and vice versa. If it doesn't work out he's worried that you'll both blame him. And, if it does work out, he may not want to think of you two as intimate.

It's also possible that he literally doubts that he knows anyone you'd be interested in.

I see one of two things.

1) he wants you for himself alone.

2) he's afraid that if it doesn't go well it'll cause awkwardness in the friend group.

He probably thinks no one will like you or he’s jealous of the idea of you being with someone else or he’s a big jerk.
