Why would guys in a voice chat insult me as trans?

Is that just a normal insult guys use? I have a girly voice, in fact I'm always told I have a "hot" voice or that I sound like a valley girl and have never once in my life been called that except in gaming. It's very insulting. I don't mind the kitchen jokes but wtf is this?

I don't know that I've heard that one specifically, but I have witnessed girls in voice being asked if they were a little boy (and vice versa).

I don't know exactly what this guy said or the context, but it's possible he was legitimately asking. Guys like to know if they're interacting with a woman. (Confession: I never ask, but I am often curious. Couldn't tell you why.)

Suggestion: play it off immediately. "Yep." "Thanks, man." "You got me." If they are just being a dicks, they'll jump on any indication that it bothers you in the slightest. Don't give them any ammunition.

Unsolicited advice: if it does bother you, confide in other female gamers. I can tell you all day how sorry I am, but I can't truly understand how you feel.
