How should you react if someone accuses you of being trans?

Not "mistakes you" for being trans, not an honest mistake and you correct them and it's no big deal.

Someone who has an agenda against trans people thinks you are one, and is trying to rile you up and/or scare you off, making a scene about it in public.

What should you do in that situation? How should you handle it so they stay calm and you can do what you came to do before leaving (buy item, use facility, attend event, etc)?

Also at what point should you not even bother trying to keep the peace or get things done? At what point is it better to just leave, come back later, and hope you don't run into them again?

It was just a stranger at a store, she started yelling at me. I just left, I didn't need what was in the isle that much and I didn't want to deal with her. She followed to the end of the isle but no further. I just don't know why it happened, and so I don't know if it will happen again. So I'd like to have an idea what to do if it does happen again, that's all.

She had groceries in her cart a homeless person would not be able to store or cook or likely afford. Maybe she did have mental issues, I don't know, but how does that make any difference? It could still happen again, and I'd still like to have an idea of how to handle it if so.

I've never had that happen to me but I would just say "I'm not trans I'm a biological woman" and if they didn't believe me I would just ignore them and move on with my life

I didn't even say anything? She just started calling me slurs and saying to go away. How am I supposed to respond to that if it happens again—would anyone believe me if I just replied "I'm not trans"? I don't think so. You don't even belive me here, and I didn't even say that I'm not trans.
