So I met this guy months ago, we are friends. We played splatoon often together. Last night he calls me baby and says it’s cute that I reply fast to him. He’s 21 by the way and I’m 19, I often reply fast to other people as well. When he send those texts I think was blushing I’m just confused with my feelings.

It's a flirty message, but that doesn't mean he is going to flirt with you more. Stay in the reality, he only sent a couple of slightly flirty messages during a day, don't build castles on top of that. Some people just like to be mildly flirty but are not serious about that, they don't have actual feelings behind, they just do what comes to their mind because in that moment they were inspired to do so.
What it means, though, is that there is the potential he will start to like you more, and more consistently, yes. Not sure it happens but there is the potential, so let him communicate with you in his ways without running with your mind. If you both will like each other, things will get automatically clearer by themselves, over time.
