Good question, it could be for a multitude of reasons. A lot of male dating coaches teach to keep women around, not for the sake of sex but for the sake of exercising the Diversity of your communication skillset with other ladies so that your current lady knows that you are still "hot". I've noticed that many many women treat their partners dramatically better when they know he can still grab the attention of other women.

The majority of rnb female artists don't sing about loyal men. They sing about the ones who cheated. So there may be some validity to this argument.
