If a person has learned helplessness, why does it look worse in men than it does in women?

Something I've noticed over the years now, if a person behaves or exhibits learned helplessness, he will be very frowned upon by the world and society if he is a guy or human male, he won't really get sympathy, maybe except from his mom or family, but if a woman is like that, she is more likely to get sympathy from the world and society.

Plus men don't really care if a woman has learned helplessness but it's a red flag in a woman's perspective if she sees or notices a man like that.

I remember this one guy said this statement, it made me mad, it is: "Learned helplessness is so enraging because it saps you of the very power your masculine nature craves".

It made me feel like wanting to beat him up to a bloody pulp

Because society says men are supposed to be 'providers' and strong, and women don't have to be. I don't necessarily agree with men needing to be strong, but the provider part is iffy in the 21st century.

I agree with PurplePoppy; no one learns helplessness; they become helpless due to being emotionally weak and quitters. Men are shamed worse for it, cause no one likes a whiny victim and they can more easily fix being helpless, useless, and weak, than women can. It's not necessarily easy, but no whiny baby or victim deserves sympathy when they do nothing to change their situation.

You're not going to do crap to anyone, since you can't even help yourself. Stop trying to' act tough' on the internet while also admitting from your own words that you're WEAK. It's cringeworthy.

Either man-up and at least go out and try to better your life, or stay weak and pathetic; but don't try to be both like those laughable "punch a Nazi" soy boy liberal bitches who think they're "men" but also unironically use terms like "toxic masculinity."

Believe me; I know a thing or two about being given a raw sh*tty deal in life. Probably had it much worse in life than you have. Work on changing what you can, though. No one respects a perpetual whiner who does nothing, admits they're soft and weak, and then also claims they're gonna "kick some ass" while being soft and weak.

People get upset with this because you're not doing anything you can to better your situation. If you were doing everything in your power to try to improve things, but it was going nowhere, you'd have every right to vent. But just complaining without cause is counterproductive, and just because women do it more, doesn't make it any less annoying. But if you've done all you can and gotten nowhere with it, and nothing seems to go your way; THEN complain. For like, one day or so. And then get back out there and try again.

Like I said, I know what it's like to be given crap in life, so I'm not going to say to not feel bad about it. But you can't expect sympathy if you're doing nothing to change.

Men get respect; women get empathy. It's a matter of evolution, not a conscious decision. But if you show yourself to be unworthy of that respect, it gets withdrawn. And the world has VERY little tolerance for men it sees as unwilling or unable to fill the role demanded of them. This is why you hear them being told to "man up" (a phrase which I seriously doubt has EVER, in the history of the world, been used to encourage a man to do something that was in his best interest), and why the vitriol against male (and specifically male) homosexuality is so strong.

Nobody learns helplessness. What happens is they fail to develop the everyday skills everyone else takes for granted that allow you to function.
You'll often see this in people who join the military at a young age and when they leave don't know how to pay a gas bill.
Or you'll see it in people who's parents shielded them from failure.

Men are still expected to be assertive and reasonably aggressive. When he is not, it is very obvious and lame.
