Depends also on why he hit her. Personally I've never known of a man just being like "why you here with me" bam punches girl in the face. So I can't comment on that, seems like it would be very rare.

I am aware of men who hit women because they found out she cheated, or she hit him first, or she is chasing him around screaming in his face until he can't hold back anymore. Like if he hits a woman who hits him first then ofc he will probably always hit a woman who hits him first. If you don't intend to hit him then he won't hit you. Seems simple to me.

It depends on the situation and his reaction. Because if he doesn´t see it as a toxic situation where he either doesn´t feel safe or where he tries to find excuses why it wasn´t a big deal I think he will do it again.
But if asks for forgiveness and shows signs of genuine remorse and works on himself he probably won´t do it again.
