The best way to determine if you're being used or not is to withhold whatever resources you believe you're being used for.

If he gets angry and/or walks away after he knows you are no longer resourcful then you know for sure he's using you.

He’s only nice to you or takes interest in you when he wants something. If you say no to what he wants, he blows up at you, gets angry and doesn’t talk to you for a while. Which in turn will make you feel guilty and make you feel like you have to do the thing that he asked of you.
