Why did he start doing this so suddenly like he didn't even talk to me last year?

Alright im in high school and i have a huge crush on my classmate for 1 year. Last year he wouldn't even say goodmorning and i always had to open the conversation. This year i stopped talking to him or looking to him and i was ready to move on but he started talking to us... too much like suddenly. I dont know but he always starts the convo with my bestfriend when im with her. When im not with her i noticed that he doesn't talk to her. Like everytime tho im next to her he will come and talk to her and then to me. He also teases me a lot and makes fun of me. For example im bad at maths and on Friday we got our English tests and i got 20 and i started to say on my bestfruend broo i got 20 and u got 16 and we were making fun of eachother and then he came and said "dont worry you will get ur revenge on maths" i got so angry at that moment but i ignored him. He calls me crazy pants sometimes. I was thinking what if he likes my bestfriend but he knows she has a boyfriend for like 1 year. He also everytime i do my homework comes and sees everything and helps me. I dont know what does all this mean.. My bestfriend posted a tiktok with car content and he liked it well i didn't get upset in here but the thing that concerns me is why does he compete with me when he always gets 94/100 and i get like 30/100 and for some reason he always competes me even tho his an exellent student. My bestfriend is a good student but he never competed her. He always teases and i can't understand him really like from not talking to talking daily strange. One day when a teacher put us a exercice we had to pick 2 initiala to do it and the teacher told him to get up to the board and do the exercise and the 2 initials he had picked were mine and his. I can't understand if that was random but also one day we were talking me him his bestfriend and my bestfriend and when i got up to get a chair he drew a heart on the desk me and my bestie were sitting and he called it a pretty heart.. its so creepy
