Why is he scared of me?

There's this guy at work who I'm still trying to figure out. He is very outgoing with everyone. I am a reserved person and so I tend to be extremely shy and quiet at work. As from last week I noticed that whenever I am near this guy for some reason (regarding work and not talking to him), some of the other colleagues call his name and gesture like "she's there"... then he looks at me, mutters something and stop talking.

There was an other instance last week as well where he was working alone and when he noticed me, he became nervous and looked scared. He then walked away.

Just to be clear I don't think that I'm that scary as there are other colleagues in the same section and they aren't afraid of me. He's the only one that looks scared and I don't want him to be scared. Why is he acting like this?

Women sometimes don’t understand that even seemingly confident men can get very nervous around women they find attractive. There’s just something about not knowing for sure if a girl is into us or not that rattles is emotionally.

True... personally, I thought that confident people are confident with everyone. What I am worried about, and hence my question, is that this guy who is very confident looked like he was scared of me... I am a very quiet, shy person... so there was no reason to be scared of me.

I’m not a very confident guy (working on it) but I’ve had friends and known guys who are super confident and good with women who get shy and awkward around the ones who they fell hardest for. If he really likes you that may be why he’s that way. Speaking from experience, the ones you like the most are the ones that hurt the most if rejected.

I hope so... but his face looked like he was scared. Would like to know what kind of emotion that was...

You think so? The fact that he looked scared when he was alone and noticed me, worries me... as he seems to be very confident when he's with the other colleagues.

I mean maybe he's so smitten by you he's lost for words. But we can't really say too too much because we dont actually know how he really feels... I mean unless you ask him
