Is he scared of me?

I have this really shy friend and I want him to ask me to prom, so I asked my friend to ask him if he wants to go to prom with me. He told her that he really liked me and that he’s scared to ask me to prom. He’s also changed his classes to all of my classes. It’s been two weeks and he’s still haven’t asked me out. Do I talk to him first?

It'd be the most reliable way of making sure he gets a chance to. Or you could ask him yourself; I know many women are hesitant about being the one to initiate things, but remember that you're not asking him to marry you; just to go to a dance. And once he relaxes around you a little, he'll be less nervous and more willing to ask you out to stuff (assuming it goes in that direction).

If you already know he likes you because it's been hinted at or you've been told and it sounded legit along with trusted then just go for it.
By a higher chance you will not get rejected and it will save time either way.

It's possible he likes you, but isn't keen about going to the prom. Talk to him yourself. Would you still like him if he preferred doing something else with you?
