How to calm your girlfriend when she's scared?

Me and my girlfriend were watching The Purdge 2013 movie. She started freaking out. She loves scary movies but she can't stand to see people being chopped up or actually seen being killed or set on fire. That scares her it gives her nightmares. I want to see the new one but she doesn't want to. She said that is one movie she's not seeing this summer. There's a lot of good ones she wants to see. She saw the previews to the new one on the last movie we saw she kept looking away from it because she was scared. I like scary too I defiantly wanna see it but I don't wanna go by myself I know she won't see it. She was screaming and crying her eyes out. She said she's scared so bad now she doesn't want to go to sleep. I never watched this movie it was on tv tonight. I didn't know they were this scary. I'm a little freaked out myself. But she's worse I can't get her to calm down. She's still crying. I don't understand she watches war movies like Rambo and World Trade Center and Private Ryan and stuff they have people being cut up or blown up to death that doesn't scare her. But when it comes to a scary movie like Friday The 13th or Texas Chainsaw she gets freaked out. I made her watch Texas Chainsaw on Halloween last year she about had a heart attack she was scared half to death she couldn't sleep for a week. She does like Friday The 13th that's her favorite but she still gets scared. I don't get why war movies don't scare her it's pretty much the same thing but some does make her cry. Hoe can I comfort her? What can I do to calm her down?
