Girls, My Girlfriend saw me cry, how did you react when you first saw your boyfriend or husband cry?

A few days ago. A close family member of mine had a stroke, it was only a minor with no brain damage, but it did scared me to where I was crying. My girlfriend came over to make me feel better and keep me company since I was going to be alone most of the night. We were talking about something, and I just broke down crying. I usually don't emotions right away, and when I do have emotions, it all comes in one. Anger, sadness, crying, etc. My girlfriend comfort me and held me until I finally calmed down. She decided to stay the night at my house. We played games and did a few things to keep my mind of the bad stuff that was happening at that moment.

So my question is the girls who have a boyfriend or husband, have you ever seen them cry? What was the reason, and how did you respond to it?

Personally, I think it's good for guys to show emotions. It shows that they have feelings and don't have the same emotions almost ever guy does.

I've seen my boyfriend crying twice so far, the first time was about a year before we became a couple, there he had an emotional breakdown at a party where me and my best friend started to sing love songs on a singstar. Alcohol plus the music pretty much made his walls fall. He walked away from us on the balkony and had an emotional breakdown. We got worried and went looking for him and then told our friendsgroup that he really feels lonely since he hasn't been in a relationship since over 6 years at that point and how afraid he was of ending up alone and miserable. Me and my best friend were utterly shocked by this reveal since we've been both attracted to him and just kinda assumed that he'd either have a girlfriend which he'd keep secret from us or wasn't interested in relationships. We ended up trying to calm him down for pretty much the rest of the night and he was extremely embarrassed of this whole situation when he got sober but also admitted that it made him feel better to share his thoughts and feelings with us. Were still referring to this situation as "needing a balkony scene" whenever we think that someone we know would benefit from venting a bit.

The second time was about 2,5 years into our relationship during our first and only big fight. I got really mad at him and was pretty much ignoring him in hope that it'll help myself to calm down. He misinterpreted my behavior though and got afraid that I'd be about to break up with him and started crying (he wasn't in the best mental state to begin with since his mother was dying from cancer). Obviously I wasn't even thinking of leaving him and did my best to comfort him. Even now another 2,5 years later I feel bad for making him cry that day 😔 but we're still happy together 😊

It's fine. It sounds you are a loving a caring Girlfriend. Kind a like my girlfriend. Thanks for sharing with me. I think it's good for a guy to show emotions because It means that they have feelings. At least that's how I see it.

i’ve never had a boyfriend but i would react the exact same way as your girlfriend did. she sounds lovely, i’m glad you have her in your life. and just remember that crying is normal especially if something scary like this happened. don’t think that you can’t cry around people you love just because you’re a guy. in fact girls love when guys show their emotions :)

I'm glad you think. I use to show a lot of emotions when I was younger. Where I am from, guys get called crybaby for even shedding one tear. One person said they don't like me because I cry to much. I told him that means I have feelings for others unlike him who only has a brick wall emotion. He left me alone after I told him that.
