How to calm your girlfriend down?

My girlfriend is upset because her mom had surgery on her arm 2 months ago she just fell down she couldn't get up her dad helped her up. She's now scared to go anywhere me her and her dad are going on a fishing trip for a couple days she doesn't want to go. She doesn't wanna gi anywhere ever again until her mom gets healed up. She didn't even feel comfortable with going outside she never seen her mom fall it was traumatic for her. How can I calm her down? What should i say to her?

It's completely fair for her not wanting to do anything that would put her mom at further risk of hurting herself. Don't pressure her into anything and let her set the pace for things she wants to do. Tell her she's being very considerate for putting her mom's health first and offer to help out if need be. Just be there for her to give her moral support and be sure not to give unsolicited advice. Perhaps stay in and have movie dates etc in the meantime and not do anything too adventurous.

Hug her and be by her side. Comfort her and pray for her mother.
