It's not any singular issue, though you could collectively say that devaluing committed marriage and by extension relationships is a big factor.

- Marriage laws and divorce court precedents in the US overwhelmingly give favorable bias to women.

- Metoo and other feminist movements proliferated through social media have scared off a huge chunk of men from even trying.

- The above issue has also worked it's way into HR SHARP mindsets, extending this tension to the workplace.

- Easy access to pornography, now starting on average as early as 12, convinces young men that they don't actually need real women in their lives to be titillated. This is almost certainly the biggest factor for men under 25.

- All of the above results in men not having relationships with women much if at all, stunting emotional maturity. Men often mature very little until the prospects of starting a family become relevant.

- Women are constantly fed feminist and corporatist bullsh*t telling them that being strictly career-focused and dismissive of men is empowering. They end up middle-aged and miserable by the time they shift priorities more often than not, which is unattractive to men.

- They're also told all sorts of anti-male propaganda such as labeling normal behaviors as toxic, while claiming actual negative behavior conducted by women as empowering. The overwhelming majority of men do not like women who act like dickhead men.

- As of a year ago (I think... Time flies now), the average American woman has slept with more partners than the average American man in their mid twenties, and the numbers are higher than you may expect. For most people of both sexes, a high body count/being a slut is not attractive.

- A huge chunk of the "good" men and women who are lucky enough to have healthy relationships early will get married early and take themselves off the market. When the not so good matches get married early, they inevitably fall apart and usually both will be almost completely disillusioned with serious relationships of any kind for a while.

- The decline of religious influence in modern culture especially in singles has also had a direct impact on the desire for commitment and marriage.

Regarding body counts, the specific numbers are 8 for women and 7 for men. The difference though is that the numbers for women were pretty consistent with too few outliers across polling data to make a major impact, while for men, it's propped up by extreme outliers, basically the highest 10-15% are carrying the numbers while everyone else is less than 3.
