Would a guy only message a girl back to be nice to her and be friendly OR is he interested?

I’m wondering and need help, so I met a guy through work and over the years we lost touch. Recently we reconnected and he is responding to my msgs and is friendly, asking me how I am etc, but previously he would say how amazing I looked and he knew I liked him. Now I want to know would a guy respond just to be nice and friendly OR is he interested? Like would a guy respond at all if he didn’t care?

It's weird that people think being interested isn't a form of friendliness, as if attraction itself is somehow malicious.

The answer should be yes (meaning both), but guys don’t always understand that they are supposed to help and care for her. That’s what love is. But, sometimes they’re blind and “fall in love” with the body instead. 🤮🤮🤮🤢
