There was a guy I liked for some time. He liked me too. We kissed few times, we went out but then I ended things. He was pretty hurt. It happened like 16 monts ago. We are okay now. We are friends and we talk normally. Last weekend we met and we had a long conversation about our past. He told me he really wanted to be with me and was sad that i turned him down after what we had together. He said he genuinely likes me even if it is only as a friend and he never was so into as to me. It surprised me that he told me all this. I mean i like him too. He is nice. I want only best for him. What do you think about this?

I think it is typical male behavior. Something traumatic has to happen to get us to interact with our feelings and exchange then with the other party involved. This is what happened to him and it took awhile for him to get there. He seems very sweet, honest, and without hidden agenda. He was straightforward about his hopes and intentions. I know lots of women that would be all over him for this quality alone. BUT
If you are not feeling it then you are not feeling it. Be honest back and tell him never beyond friends even though I am fond of you. Don't be waiting for me to suddenly wake-up and be yours. I really value our friendship...
Id say its best to stay friends for now, but what did your guy feeling tell you after he told you how he felt?
I think somewhere you both still have feelings for each other
