Men, have you cried in front of your female friends? If so, what about them made you comfortable enough to cry in front of them?

I have cried in front of a female friend. It was because she doesn't judge, is emotionally intelligent and accepts people the way they are. Very few preconceived ideas of how people should be or behave. That gave me the feeling I could be totally genuine and vulnerable with her. Note that it is my experience that very few people are safe to emotionally open up to as a man. It's a generally accepted idea that emotionally opening up to another man is a bad idea because it conveys weakness, which opens you up to abuse. Women have a reputation to be more emotional and thus more accepting of emotions, but I haven't seen confirmation of this being a universal truth. I have been emotionally vulnerable in front of other women and they showed themselves to be as unable to cope with it as most men, in contrast to the oft repeated idea that women want men to be open and vulnerable. Still, this female friend did live up to that sentiment.

No, but it's because of the logicl fallacy that women want to see men being emotional.. Yet when they see men being emotional it's an immediate turn off. So no I have not fallen into that trap. The only woman to ever see me cry is my wife, and it was when her dad died.

Only a few have seen me cry. It's easier for me to cry in front of a woman anyway.
They made me comfortable enough by showing care and holding me.

Yes I have cried. My friends created a safe space where I knew I could let down my guard and wouldn’t be harmed emotionally if I let it out. Why do you ask?

Nice. Well, I ask because I recently met a guy and umm the second day of getting to know each other he randomly started crying. I didn’t know how to interpret it. Like, I know his sister is in the hospital due to cancer bu I just wasn’t expecting him to cry this early on. Don’t know how to take it.

If he was crying because of the grief that his sister was in the hospital then it’s likely he would have cried in front of lots of people. Guess you can be supportive and follow up to see how he feels. How did you all meet?

Yes 😊👍🏻 The second day where we got to meet up he started crying. I was supposed to help him with an essay and he randomly cried.
