Is it common for a guy to get mad when he starts catching feelings and liking you?

I was in this situation where this guy I liked (now I don't anymore long story) and he always stated he weren't built for relationships. He just like to chill. To me this is a red flag but whatever. But he always asked me to hang out and even asked me out before. He would also look at me like stare at me. I would ask him what's wrong but he shake his head and turn away. He did this every 10 minutes. He would also get mad for no reason when he is the one who asks me to hang with him stating that I'm messing up his vibe. My question is it normal for guys to get mad when they start liking someone? Or is this guy just plain weird and have issues?
