Why did my bestfriend gave me roses on Valentine's day?

I, 26th year old female has a male bestfriend since highschool 2011. Me and my bestfriend met through Facebook and I noticed that he was friends with my boyfriend at that time when I went to summer school. We talked and clicked very well, but at the time we barely chat but just comment each other posts. Spring hit, My friend at the time was getting ready to go her match and I knew that my bestfriend goes to that school. I told her I wanted to tag along because I though It would be nice to meet him for the first time. I messaged him to let him know that I was coming to see him at his school. All I knew that I was getting excited to meet him. when I finally met him in person. I knew it from my guts that he will be my bestfriend. Me and him had a wonderful connection that no one will understand. We do what siblings do, care about each other well's being and make sure we are safe from kidnappers and from people who's trying to hurt us. Fast forward 6 years pass down we both last spoke since 2017 until beginning of the year of 2023. On the day before Valentines day, I bought him a wristlet for his I-watch. I though it would be a wonderful gift for him since he's been wanting a new wristlet. I gave it to him early because I was going to be busy on Valentine's day, but he was very pleased with the gift. On Valentine's day I was done with a lot of things that needed to be done, so I reached out to him and he told me that he is going to pick me up and I should get ready to go eat since I was available. Me and him decided to eat sushi together. When he picked me up, and made it to the restaurant. We had to put on a waiting list because it was a full house. So me and him went back to his car and he gave me a surprised gift and it was a Mic for my streaming and he gave me roses as well with a card. He told me that he wanted to match the theme, I didn't think much but went with it. Out of the blue he said he forgot to get chocolates. Now thinking about it. Is this normal?
