Why did my ex send flowers on Valentine's day?

He broke up with me in October of last year and I tried to get back together until I gave up trying. So I finally stuck with No Contact starting Jan 1st. He never contacted me during this period and made no effort. Except what my friends think was him creating fake dating profile with username "i used to love you baby" to send me cryptic messages at 2 am and deleting the profile right after sending it. Or some with his name in it. So, I come home to find a beautiful bouquet of flowers in a vase at my door with a note: Happy Valentine's day. I hope you are well. Keep on cont your growth as a person. Dont ever change the good heart you have. Love,___.
Why would he do this?

He started realizing what he once had is gone. The no contact rule will make him miss you. Girls process a breakup quickly and immediately miss the guy. Especially when they're the ones getting dumped. It takes months for reality to sink into most guys and realize it's definitely completely over. He's probably feeling what you felt a couple months ago. That doesn't mean you should try to talk him into getting back together. I think you should continue to give him space and see if he comes around on his own. It seems to be working. The minute you start chasing him again he will become distant again

Well, I think he probably still has emotional attachment over you, and he is probably not completely over you nor is he completely ready to move on, yet.
