I want to clarify that this question has to do with situations when a woman is acquainted with a guy who is showing all the signs of interest but won't be clear about his feeling or intentions. When they come on here, as have I in the past, asking for advice, they are told he's "shy" you have to be approachable, help him blah blah blah. NO! This is a man who doesn't really want you but will take if you are willing to put out. "Shy" is just a f---boy who doesn't want the bad rap of being a user!

I think there are way too many 'X' factors in regards to the how/why men do or don't engage with women; especially of you boil it down to only 2 options.

I mean, you're taking subjective data that's secondhand at best- the statements made by women who confirm they've been observed by men- and drawing only 2 conclusions from it?

There needs to be so much more data points taken into account. An 18 year old girl from a good home and no sexual experience and a 28 year old abused woman fresh off a divorce will see the same guy doing the same thing and draw drastically different conclusions about his intentions.

Conversely, the same logic applies when consulting men and their behaviors. Yes. I am talking about repeat staring from the same person over and over.

The man whose behaviour suggests interest and attraction but doesn't do anything really about it.

People say this is shyness but from what I keep experiencing, they have this half-hearted manner because they aren't really interested but will take attention and sex then fade the woman after.

It probably varies in each situation and the individual will have to use her intuition to figure it out. I saw this new girl at work that was very attractive and I kept looking at her, but I still prefer being single and had no intention of making a move. But after noticing me she said 'I can see you looking at me you know'. It transpired that the same girl had been duped by another man who pretended to be interested in a relationship and after they slept together he wasn't interested.

But when I rejected her invites to her place, she still became angry. But some guys may be shy, some may be lazy, and some may be desperate. Thus I'd say it is discernment that is the missing key.

You get the point I am trying to make. I am only trying to highlight for women that if a guy is shy, leave him be. A man who wants you WILL do it. And if he really really really can't mister up the courage something's off.

That's true to some extent but don't forget. Over the years all kinds of nonsense has been pushed that meddle with the natural state of affairs between men and women in the workplace or in general. In some areas where I live, they have small teams of the Police force that deal with street harassment. But this means that not only the guilty can be prosecuted, it also means that if a man approached a woman and she decided it was harassment, he could be landed in jail.
