Trending & News Anyone who thinks like that shouldn't date in the first place. That is until they have worked enough on themselves to stop thinking like that.
Because that's an indication of low self-esteem. And low self-esteem can poison any relationship on a variety of levels. That doesn't mean you should be arrogant and entitlement. But thinking you don't deserve someone would either cause you to miss out on a potentially meaningful relationship or cause you to self-sabotage the relationship.
It also goes without saying that women generally don't like a guy who thinks so lowly of himself. Women like mentally-strong and confident men.
As far as a guy not dating a woman due to thinking he's not good enough, maybe there's some guys who wouldn't for reasons such as figuring she'll leave him anyway because he can't live up to her expectations. Personally, if I believed she has a good heart and wants to give things a chance, I feel it'd be foolish not to. When it comes to a guy thinking he's not good enough, I think the more common issue though is him being too afraid to ask her out in the first place because he feels certain she'll reject him.

Self confidence is a heck of a thing. A guy who genuinely believes that the girl is too good for him would probably not date her, no.
There would be times that could happen. I reverse discriminate with really spectacular girls. I tend to assume they won't be so nice on the inside as they are on the outside. It is not so much I don't think I am good enough but more that I don't think they are good enough.
A couple of times I have found that I am badly wrong.
Been there as well, good insight.
@Heterosketero Yes, spectacular girls get treated pretty well by men and I think also by women in the most part. The later might be more a personality thing because female rivalry is mostly about getting more of the resources.
So a spectacular girl is going to be orientated towards getting what she wants. In general.
Great point
When I was in my late teens and early to mid 20s, that was a big hesitation I had. As I got older, I started working myself beyond that kind of thinking. It's a moot point now because I'm married.
Depends on what she does and the lifestyle she got…. I’m not rich I’m very poor
So don’t think a rich girl would want that this day and age…!!!
It’s all about the money ….
It don’t mean f—k all to me….
It’s not about the money it should be about connections and looks…
This is very eye-opening, thanks
If you're boyfriend is doing this just tell him he isn't good enough and then tell him you choose him anyway. The pressure is getting to him. Get rid of the pressure and agree with him.
Assure him you love him as he is
Honestly girls are not the only ones who look in a mirror sometimes and say I am disgusting I am not worthy of a good looking significant other. Some of us really are as cocky as we act and think we are as attractive as the most beautiful women on the planet, but others put up confidence as a show. Me, I wouldn't date a 20 year old beautiful woman, as people would say, what is she doing with that ugly man with a receding hairline, did he kidnap and brainwash her.
Yes.
I don’t like the pressure and be looked down upon.
I was in a relationship and once which went down hell because she compared me to her Ex which she still had feelings for.
After that I learned how to not over look things.
I don't think so. I get that some people have poor self esteem but that should not prevent them from asking someone out.
It's her job to judge if I am good enough. Not mine, however I don't bother with women who has swarms of men around her, not because I am not worthy, but because she isn't worth the hazzle.
I’m just as good as anyone else. No-one is better than anyone else. If I see a dateable lass that I like, why not date Her?
I've decided not to pursue a woman before cuz I knew I wouldn't be good enough
Later she said I should have and I regret it
Good question, the result do not surprise me and are quite telling about how men are better than they are made out to be. We need to be good enough. It is in our nature.
Absolutely. Because we make decisions based on logic, not feelings. If I know a relationship is going to fall apart down the road, I'm not going to enter into it in the first place.
Who wants to start something with someone who you believe will just walk in the very near future.
Nope, the only calculus I use is if she is good enough for me. She can figure out if I am good enough for her on her own.
Actually yes, I have done that once, I know it's not the right thing to do, but I have done it so I won't lie.
Nah. That’s just a way for a guy to turn you down but still appearing like the “good guy”
I would not date period confidence has nothing to do with it at all.
That's easily the dumbest thing I've heard today.
Everything’s the dumbest thing you’ve ever heard today. What’s new?
I laughed.
Lots of guys make that excuse.
Must break your heart
Currently going through that now
Not anymore.
I have, yes

Never.
