Obviously you're over whelmed with not having the connections you once had but its more then likely that you're not genuinely interested in this guy, so his simply going to ignore you and of course it seems odd that you care to have your mind on 1 person rather then just talking to people in your work place about your interests with what you're doing or have done & asking about there's.

So since you have no interest in the one peer that comes to mind who is a male who you dont understand but want to make them obligated to you by your so called "friend title" it would be easy enough for you to buy them something to put on there desk like a small novilty toy, so it doesn't take up to much room on there desk and reminds them of you when theyre looking for a distraction from work. To contimplate what course of action he should take.

there's no reason why she can't fuck him but saying this will eliminate her option.
She obviously wants to pursue her interest with this guy without dating him to be locked into a relationship but eliminating her option takes her 1 step further away from getting to know the place better but at the same time, she doesn't want to ask him out because she wants to explore her options.
So it would be more in her interest for her to ask him where are the best places to go to, without being taken out & of course suggest that she is going to one of those places, to see if they run into each other to take things further with her getting on the fast track to learning the city without the obligation, regardless of what they do together before returning to there own places.
