Sounds to me as if he is slowly distancing himself from you. If he knows your first name, then either it is a bad joke because it installs a doubt in your mind or then, he does indeed want to keep the distance.

Now, you did not tell us whether you are simply platonic friends or if there is more to your relationship with that guy.

If you are just friends, then this may only signify that he does not have the urge to remain in close contact. If you are indeed more than just platonic friends, then I would worry that this "while" you were separated has impacted him and that he no longer wishes to be whatever he was and that perhaps you have been friendzoned.
